Bloomingdale’s x Burberry

New York, New York

2025

For the 2025 holiday season, Burberry transformed the façade of Bloomingdale's iconic 59th Street flagship into an immersive brand statement centered around a monumental 200-foot-wide illuminated ribbon and bow. Our team was entrusted with designing and delivering the architectural lighting installation, creating a display that seamlessly merged luxury branding, engineering, and large-scale holiday spectacle.

As a key member of the creative and leadership team, I helped guide the design direction from concept through execution. My role included developing the presentation renderings, sourcing materials, collaborating on the engineering of the physical structure, and supporting the on-site installation to ensure the final installation matched the original vision.

The design was conceived to perform beautifully in every lighting condition. During the day, a custom-printed mesh featuring Burberry's iconic check pattern wrapped the building in the appearance of a gift. At night, the façade transformed as nearly 200,000 integrated LED lights illuminated the ribbon and bow, revealing a dramatically different visual experience while maintaining the elegance of the daytime installation.

The project received widespread industry recognition, earning a place on WWD's list of the season's top retail holiday activations and winning the Heritage Award at the WindowsWear Awards 2026. It stands as a successful example of combining architectural lighting, experiential design, and luxury retail storytelling at an urban scale.
